ScrumU meeting notes - Sept 11, 2009

Attendees: Wake Forest, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Clemson, Cornell

Wake Forest – Moving from 2 week to 3 week sprints, response to more people taking PTO, planning taking a whole day, increased focus on improvement efforts, didn’t leave many work days. Hope to have more breathing room for planning the next sprint. Also working on involving customers earlier, evaluating complexity vs. hours on user stories – implications on velocity.

Notre Dame – Scrum training end of the month. New project kicking off, year long effort hope to use Scrum, space identified, team identified.

ScrumU Inaugural Meeting

ScrumU
“All-In” Meeting
Friday, August 14, 2009

Georgia Tech - Completing first "real" sprint!! Grade entry function, part of larger ERP upgrade. Challenges - Office logistics, gainig buy-in to new approach.

**ScrumU Meeting** All Institutions are encouraged to attend - experienced and new to Scrum!!

If you are interested in learning more about Scrum and how to implement it at your institution or if you would like to improve on your implementation of Scrum, please plan to join us in our first of hopefully many all-inclusive ScrumU gathering.

We will meet virtually via audio conference in a "daily" format.

ScrumU Presenting "Agile Software Delivery using Scrum" at Southeast Regional Educause 2009

In software development and implementation in higher ed, we are being challenged to do more with less due to current economic conditions while the drive for improved quality and delivering to rigorous deadlines continues to increase.

Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and NCCU will share experiences in implementing agile development methodologies using Scrum. We will include how we created a collaborative forum among our institutions with Notre Dame and Cornell that we call "ScrumU" to share ideas and challenges while celebrating successes in implementing a new software development methodology.

ScrumU Launches New Website

Welcome to the first official website for ScrumU! This website was designed by some of the early members of ScrumU. We want to reach the higher education community as broadly as possible. This website is a start to reach that objective. Please join us and discuss your work with Scrum! Ask questions - give feedback on the website, on ScrumU, on collaborating. We need all of us to make ScrumU its best.
