ScrumU meeting notes - Jun 5 2009Submitted by tweber1 on Fri, 06/05/2009 - 2:00pm |
Attendees: Clemson, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, GA Tech
Educause SE Update: 4:30 – 5:30 timeslot, up against “Greek night” 10-15 people turned out. Lori & Kristine did basic intro to Scrum, then GA Tech, NC Central, Wake Forest – what they’ve done to date.
Slides are in gmail docs. Wondering if Kristine will put on website?
Talked about ScrumU website. Jonathan checked if anyone has requested access –2 requests in the last few days.
Updates:
Wake Forest – Trying to be more proficient with product backlog. Moving to release planning, e.g. Banner upgrade, Cognos Upgrade, plan out 6 months ahead. Planning session yesterday. Priortized product backlog, basic estimates. No impediments.
Ga Tech – Scrum “lite” pilot – principles, but no collocation. Grade change module – in verification mode with functional owners. Started looking at space, thinking about reconfiguring to have a Scrum room. Thinking about keeping offices/cubicles, but during sprint work in team room. Trying to determine next solution to Scrum. No impediments.
Clemson – Just finished first pilot project, lots of positive feedback from customers. Took 2 months. Started 2nd, gone through rqts, design, working on stories & tasks, will probably take 6-8 weeks. Do daily scrum using Adobe Connect, leave open all the time.
Notre Dame – In Sprint 6 – will probably be 2 more sprints to finish project. Now working in 4 week sprints. Have gone to categorizing work by type of work. Staged rollout – first rollout to pilot group first week in July, to all campus by beginning of August. Using team room – good for bringing functional & technical resources together. Next week for testing will be really helpful. No major impediments – having to figure out how to use Product Owner’s time strategically. Had to put more structure around items where need her buy in, use of her time.
